Implement debugging feature for pserialize(9)
The debugging feature detects violations of pserialize constraints.
It causes a panic:
- if a context switch happens in a read section, or
- if a sleepable function is called in a read section.
The feature is enabled only if LOCKDEBUG is on.

socket: report receive buffer overflows
Add soroverflow() which increments the overflow counter, sets so_error
to ENOBUFS and wakes the receive socket up.
Replace all code that manually increments this counter with soroverflow().
Add soroverflow() to raw_input().
This allows userland to detect route(4) overflows so it can re-sync
with the current state.
socket: clear error even when peeking
The error has already been reported and it's pointless requiring another
recv(2) call just to clear it.

Note value received. Harden another sendto for ENOBUFS.
Handle the routing socket overflowing gracefully.

as they were including sa.h just for the type(s) needed for syscallargs.h.

Instead, create a new file, sys/satypes.h, which contains just the
types needed for syscallargs.h. Yes, there's only one now, but that
may change and it's probably more likely to change if it'd be difficult
to handle. :-)

Per discussion with matt at n dot o, add an include of satypes.h to
sigtypes.h. Upcall handlers are kinda signal handlers, and signalling
is the header file that's already included for syscallargs.h that
closest matches SA.

This shaves about 3000 lines off of the diff of the branch relative
to the base. That also represents about 18% of the total before this
checkin.

I think this reduction is very good thing.
1.184.22.1 Sat May 10 23:48:47 UTC 2008 wrstuden Initial checkin of re-adding SA. Everything except kern_sa.c
compiles in GENERIC for i386. This is still a work-in-progress, but
this checkin covers most of the mechanical work (changing signalling
to be able to accomidate SA's process-wide signalling and re-adding
includes of sys/sa.h and savar.h). Subsequent changes will be much
more interesting.

Also, kern_sa.c has received partial cleanup. There's still more
to do, though.

Add soroverflow() which increments the overflow counter, sets so_error
to ENOBUFS and wakes the receive socket up.
Replace all code that manually increments this counter with soroverflow().
Add soroverflow() to raw_input().
This allows userland to detect route(4) overflows so it can re-sync
with the current state.

toolchain/35540 - GDB 6 support for pthreads.
port-sparc64/37534 - ktrace firefox gives
kernel trap 30: data access expection
GDB changes:
- delete gdb53
- enable gdb6 on all architectures
- add support for amd64 crash dumps
- add support for sparc64 crash dumps
- add support for /proc pid to executable filename for all archs
- enable thread support for all architectures
- add a note section to kernels to all platforms
- support detection/unwinding of signals for most architectures.
- Fix PTHREAD_UCONTEXT_TO_REG / PTHREAD_REG_TO_UCONTEXT on sh3.
- Apply fix from binutils-current so that sparc gdb can be cross built
on a 64bit host.
SA/pthread changes:
Pre-allocate memory needed for event delivery. Eliminates dropped
interrupts under load.
Deliver intra-process signals to running threads
Eliminate some deadlock scenarios
Fix intra-process signal delivery when delivering to a thread waiting
for signals. Makes afs work again!

- Apply fix from binutils-current so that sparc gdb can be cross built

SA/pthread changes:
Pre-allocate memory needed for event delivery. Eliminates dropped
interrupts under load.
Deliver intra-process signals to running threads
Eliminate some deadlock scenarios
Fix intra-process signal delivery when delivering to a thread waiting
for signals. Makes afs work again!

Remove unused extended attributes kernel options

As Masao Uebayashi pointed to me, UFS_EXTATTR_AUTOSTART, LFS_EXTATTR_AUTOSTART
and UFS_EXTATTR_AUTOCREATE are not used anywhere in the code. Remove them
as they have been obsolete for a long time:
UFS_EXTATTR_AUTOSTART was replaced by mount -o extattr
LFS_EXTATTR_AUTOSTART was created to match obsolete UFS_EXTATTR_AUTOSTART

Support for UFS1 extended attributes in GENERIC and GENERIC-like kernels
This change just brings UFS1 extended attribute *support* in the kernel,
extended attributes are not enabled unless three conditions are met:
1) filesystem is UFS1 (newfs -O1)
2) .attribute/system and .attribute/user directories are created at fs root
3) filesystem is mounted with -o extattr
Some GENERIC kernels are obviously memory constrained, the extended
attributes options were not enabled for them, but just added commented out.
(kernel were considered memory constrained if QUOTA option was disabled)

address space available to processes. this limit exists in most other
modern unix variants, and like most of them, our defaults are unlimited.
remove the old mmap / rlimit.datasize hack.
- - adds the VMCMD_STACK flag to all the stack-creation vmcmd callers.
it is currently unused, but was added a few years ago.
- - add a pair of new process size values to kinfo_proc2{}. one is the
total size of the process memory map, and the other is the total size
adjusted for unused stack space (since most processes have a lot of
this...)
- - patch sh, and csh to notice RLIMIT_AS. (in some cases, the alias
RLIMIT_VMEM was already present and used if availble.)
- - patch ps, top and systat to notice the new k_vm_vsize member of
kinfo_proc2{}.
- - update irix, svr4, svr4_32, linux and osf1 emulations to support
this information. (freebsd could be done, but that it's best left
as part of the full-update of compat/freebsd.)
this addresses PR 7897. it also gives correct memory usage values,
which have never been entirely correct (since mmap), and have been
very incorrect since jemalloc() was enabled.
tested on i386 and sparc64, build tested on several other platforms.
thanks to many folks for feedback and testing but most espcially
chuq and yamt for critical suggestions that lead to this patch not
having a special ugliness i wasn't happy with anyway :-)

RLIMIT_VMEM was already present and used if availble.)
- - patch ps, top and systat to notice the new k_vm_vsize member of
kinfo_proc2{}.
- - update irix, svr4, svr4_32, linux and osf1 emulations to support
this information. (freebsd could be done, but that it's best left
as part of the full-update of compat/freebsd.)
this addresses PR 7897. it also gives correct memory usage values,
which have never been entirely correct (since mmap), and have been
very incorrect since jemalloc() was enabled.
tested on i386 and sparc64, build tested on several other platforms.
thanks to many folks for feedback and testing but most espcially
chuq and yamt for critical suggestions that lead to this patch not
having a special ugliness i wasn't happy with anyway :-)

socket: report receive buffer overflows
Add soroverflow() which increments the overflow counter, sets so_error
to ENOBUFS and wakes the receive socket up.
Replace all code that manually increments this counter with soroverflow().
Add soroverflow() to raw_input().
This allows userland to detect route(4) overflows so it can re-sync
with the current state.
socket: clear error even when peeking
The error has already been reported and it's pointless requiring another
recv(2) call just to clear it.
socket: remove now incorrect comment that so_error is only udp

But there was never any real need for sys/mutex.h in sys/sched.h,
because it only uses pointers to the opaque struct kmutex. Cycle
broken by using `struct kmutex *' instead of pulling in sys/mutex.h
for the definition of kmutex_t.

Side effect: This revealed that sys/cpu_data.h needed sys/intr.h
(which was pulled in accidentally by sys/mutex.h via sys/sched.h) for
SOFTINT_COUNT. Also revealed some other machine/cpu.h header files
were missing includes of sys/mutex.h for kmutex_t.

ia64: Need sys/types.h for u_int, vaddr_t; sys/mutex.h for kmutex_t.

explicitly include no longer implicitly included sys/mutex.h.

arm/xscale: Use sys/bitops.h fls32 - 1 instead of 31 - __builtin_clz.
Sidesteps namespace collision with `#define bits ...' in net/zlib.c.

complete the previous - there were two calls to find_first_bit() to fix.

arm/xscale: Missed a spot with previous find_first_bit commit.

evbarm/g42xxeb: Fix off-by-one in previous.

The original find_first_bit(x) was 31 - __builtin_clz((uint32_t)x),
which is equivalent to fls32(x) - 1, not to fls32(x).

Note that fls32 is 1-based and returns 0 for x=0.

But there was never any real need for sys/mutex.h in sys/sched.h,
because it only uses pointers to the opaque struct kmutex. Cycle
broken by using `struct kmutex *' instead of pulling in sys/mutex.h
for the definition of kmutex_t.

Side effect: This revealed that sys/cpu_data.h needed sys/intr.h
(which was pulled in accidentally by sys/mutex.h via sys/sched.h) for
SOFTINT_COUNT. Also revealed some other machine/cpu.h header files
were missing includes of sys/mutex.h for kmutex_t.

ia64: Need sys/types.h for u_int, vaddr_t; sys/mutex.h for kmutex_t.

arm/xscale: Use sys/bitops.h fls32 - 1 instead of 31 - __builtin_clz.
Sidesteps namespace collision with `#define bits ...' in net/zlib.c.
