hardware revision 1.8
1NetBSD/atari _VER runs on a TT030, Falcon and Hades. An FPU is not required. 2The minimum amount of RAM required is 4Mb. On the Hades, only the et4000-PCI 3card is supported in the _VER release. When another video card is present, 4you can use NetBSD only with a serial console. 5 6Here is a table of recommended HD partition sizes for a full install: 7 partition: advise, with X, needed, with X 8 root (/) 20M 20M 15M 15M 9 user (/usr) 95M 125M 75M 105M 10 swap ----- 2M for every M ram ----- 11 local (/local) up to you 12 13In addition of the rule of thumb for the swap size mentioned below, you 14probably want to make sure that the size of the swap partition does not 15drop below 20Mb (30Mb for systems with X). 16As you may note the recommended size of /usr is 20M greater than 17needed. This is to leave room for a kernel source and compile tree 18as you will probably want to compile your own kernel. (GENERIC is 19large and bulky to accommodate all people, BOOT is small and might 20not have all the features you want). 21 22Supported devices include: 23 - The builtin SCSI host adapter 24 - Should support most SCSI-drives. The drives that are 25 currently tested are: 26 MAXTOR 7245S, MAXTOR 7080S, SEAGATE ST157N 27 - Should support most tape drives. The drives that are 28 currently tested are: 29 TANDBERG 3600, TANDBERG 3800 30 - Should support most CD-ROM drives. 31 - Should support most ZIP/MO drives. 32 - The builtin video controller 33 - The builtin (720Kb/1.44Mb) floppydrive 34 - The serial2/modem2 ports 35 - The Falcon FX memory expansion 36 - The atari mouse 37 - A 3-button mouse 38 - The parallel printer 39 - Riebl (and possibly PAM) ethernet cards on the VME bus. 40 - IDE interface on both Falcon and Hades 41 - The serial interface on the first 68901 UART (modem1) 42 - ET4000-PCI (VGA) on the Hades. 43 44If it's not on this list, there is no support for it in this release. 45
