1 1.1 jwise This contains groff-formatted man pages for the CVS revision control 2 1.1 jwise system. CVS is a version control system which allows you to keep old 3 1.1 jwise versions of files (usually source code), keep a log of who, when, and why 4 1.1 jwise changes occurred, etc., like RCS or SCCS. Unlike the simpler systems, 5 1.1 jwise CVS does not just operate on one file at a time or one directory at a 6 1.1 jwise time, but operates on hierarchical collections of directories consisting 7 1.1 jwise of version controlled files. CVS helps to manage releases and to control 8 1.1 jwise the concurrent editing of source files among multiple authors. CVS allows 9 1.1 jwise triggers to enable/log/control various operations and works well over a 10 1.1 jwise wide area network (see man pages). 11
