1xf86-video-openchrome 2--------------------- 3(http://www.openchrome.org) 4 5SUPPORTED CHIPSETS : 6-------------------- 7- CLE266 (VT3122) 8- KM400/P4M800 (VT3205) 9- K8M800 (VT3204) 10- PM800/PM880/CN400 (VT3259) 11- VM800/CN700/P4M800Pro (VT3314) 12- CX700 (VT3324) 13- P4M890 (VT3327) 14- K8M890 (VT3336) 15- P4M900/VN896 (VT3364) 16- VX800 (VT3353) 17- VX855 (VT3409) 18 19 20SUPPORTED FEATURES : 21-------------------- 22- Free modesetting for Unichrome, Unichrome Pro and Chrome9 chipsets. 23- VBE modesetting for everything not natively supported. 24- TV-out support. 25- EXA acceleration. 26- Hardware MPEG2 acceleration. 27 28 29IMPORTANT NOTE : 30---------------- 31- The driver name is now 'openchrome', and this is what you need to use in 32 your xorg.conf now (instead of 'via'). The XvMC libraries have also been 33 renamed, to 'libchromeXvMC.so' and 'libchromeXvMCPro.so'. 34 35 36KNOWN BUGS/LIMITATIONS : 37------------------------ 38* Laptop panel 39- Laptop displays for anything other than CLE266 and KM400/P4M800 are only 40 supported thru VBE calls. 41- Virtual terminal is broken on some laptop displays. Use a vesa framebuffer to 42 work around that (append vga=791 to your kernel command line, for example). 43 44* XvMC 45- The hardware MPEG4 acceleration that is present on some chipsets is not 46 implemented. 47- No XvMC support for CX700 and newer (new, unsupported engine). 48- No XvMC support for K8M890, P4M890 and P4M900/VN896 (need to get dri working 49 for them first). 50 51* TV output 52- TV modes are hardcoded and must be choosen inside a list depending on the TV 53 encoder. 54- Outputs are dependent on each other and will use the least common 55 denominator. If you're using both VGA/LCD output and TV output, the VGA/LCD 56 output will be limited by the TV encoder (720x576@50Hz for example). 57 In other words, there is no dual screen support. 58 59* Misc. 60- Add-on TMDS encoders are not supported, except thru VBE. 61- CX700, VX800 and VX855 integrated TMDS is supported. 62 63* Chrome9 64- Chrome9 chipsets' family (P4M900, K8M890, VX800, VX855) currently doesn't 65 support neither AGP DMA nor 3D acceleration. 66 67 68Please note that 3D acceleration is provided by Mesa (http://mesa3d.org) and is 69not directly related to openchrome. 70 71
