305aa9e3350Smrg savage: Avoid unnecessary float calculation in video display
306aa9e3350Smrg
307aa9e3350Smrg There is no reason to do the division using floats as long as
308aa9e3350Smrg the result is an integer and there is no risk of intermediate
309aa9e3350Smrg overflow.
310aa9e3350Smrg
311aa9e3350Smrg This is in the code for "Old" chipsets. Integer division was already
312aa9e3350Smrg used in the parallel code for "New" chipsets.

325aa9e3350Smrg If I set the resolution to 800x600 for example (to be able to use the
326aa9e3350Smrg TV output in full screen mode), I only can see 800/1024 = 0,78 of the
327aa9e3350Smrg real video width, no matter if the video is displayed in a small player
328aa9e3350Smrg window or enlarged to full screen. On the right of the video display,
329aa9e3350Smrg the remaining width is filled with a black (or sometimes blue) bar.
330aa9e3350Smrg
331aa9e3350Smrg The problem was mainly that only the drawing starting point was modified
332aa9e3350Smrg by the scaling factor, but not the size-defining end of the drawing

8196aec45a7Smrg Do not use XAAGetCopyROP outside of XAA-specific code
8206aec45a7Smrg
8216aec45a7Smrg The DRI code attempts to use XAAGetCopyROP without checking whether XAA or EXA is in effect. This results in the server crashing with an undefined-symbol error when enabling EXA, then starting glxgears under GNOME/Metacity and attempting to drag the glxgears window.
8226aec45a7Smrg
8236aec45a7Smrg The EXA code happens to have a functional duplicate of the required code under the name SavageGetCopyROP(). This patch moves the code to savage_accel.c where it is now shared between EXA and the DRI code.
8246aec45a7Smrg
8256aec45a7Smrg It is disturbing that this has not been caught before.

8316aec45a7Smrg Implement use of Mastered Image Transfer through AGP for UploadToScreen EXA acceleration.
8326aec45a7Smrg
8336aec45a7Smrg Under some conditions (documented in this patch), the UploadToScreen implementation can make use of the AGP scratch buffer used for XVideo as a convenient source for Mastered Image Transfer. The previous implementation is still available as a fallback for when AGP acceleration is not possible. This requires the AGP scratch buffer to be persistent, so the XVideo code is also made aware of an existing DRM mapping for the scratch buffer.

8816aec45a7Smrg Savage: Do not add panel modes when there is no panel
8826aec45a7Smrg
8836aec45a7Smrg SavageGetPanelInfo will reset DisplayType if the panel is not
8846aec45a7Smrg active, so check again before calling SavageAddPanelMode so that
8856aec45a7Smrg bogus modes are not added.

8876aec45a7Smrg This fixes startup failures in some cases, for instance when there is no

10716aec45a7Smrg
10726aec45a7Smrg Since some time, savage enforces video-mode and max. pixel clock

10746aec45a7Smrg prevents users from defining higher screen resolutions, even though the

10826aec45a7Smrg Fix ambiguous operator precedence
10836aec45a7Smrg
10846aec45a7Smrg In the modified lines, the logical-not binds first to psav->videoFlags,
10856aec45a7Smrg not to (psav->videoFlags & VF_STREAMS_ON). If more flags are ever
10866aec45a7Smrg implemented, they could interfere with this check. More of a preventive
10876aec45a7Smrg patch than anything else.

11576aec45a7Smrg Merge PCI-rework support and "classic" PCI interface support into one tree

13606aec45a7Smrg Do a single mapping per BAR. This cleans up the code a bit and paves
13616aec45a7Smrg the way for the pci-rework branch. The disadvantage is that the
13626aec45a7Smrg Savage3D puts MMIO and framebuffer in the same BAR. This has to be
13636aec45a7Smrg fixed-up after the mapping by altering the write-combine setting for
13646aec45a7Smrg the framebuffer subrange.

16376aec45a7Smrg I have resolved this by making all the "Direct rendering disabled" messages
16386aec45a7Smrg X_WARNING and all the "Direct rendering enabled" messages X_INFO.
16396aec45a7Smrg Ideally, we need to factor some of this stuff out to common code. There
16406aec45a7Smrg is a *LOT* of duplication among the *_dri.c files under
16416aec45a7Smrg programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/drivers.

16496aec45a7Smrg - fix accel problems on crtc2. It seems the GBD doesn't always update
16506aec45a7Smrg correctly resulting in incorrect stride and/or offset. Switch the accel
16516aec45a7Smrg code to use the PBD instead and send the new offset with each command.
16526aec45a7Smrg Because the offset is always up to date, we no longer need
16536aec45a7Smrg        SavageRestoreAccelState().

18456aec45a7Smrg - Shadow status update thresholds on Savage4 were reversed. Fixed now.
18466aec45a7Smrg - Fixed cobIndex on Savage2K. It used only a 4K COB so far. Now we have
18476aec45a7Smrg full 128K.
18486aec45a7Smrg - Program the shadow status thresholds correctly on Savage2K.
18496aec45a7Smrg - Savage2K reports used entries in the queue in qword units instead of
18506aec45a7Smrg dwords. Fixed WaitQueue2K accordingly.
18516aec45a7Smrg - Event counter 0 is in status word 2 instead of status word 1 on Savage2K.
18526aec45a7Smrg Fixed ShadowWait accordingly.
18536aec45a7Smrg - Added a ShadowWaitQueue function that doesn't idle the engine all the
18546aec45a7Smrg time. This improves 3D animation smoothness with concurrent
18556aec45a7Smrg 2D activity when shadow status is enabled.

18836aec45a7Smrg - Something's still wrong with ShadowStatus on the PCI card I'm testing
18846aec45a7Smrg here. Probably a DRM issue.

21076aec45a7Smrg Bug #1087: Make sure all the *Weak symbols are documented in the import
21086aec45a7Smrg list, so the loader knows not to complain about unresolved symbols when
21096aec45a7Smrg an optional module isn't loaded. This typically manifests as warnings
21106aec45a7Smrg about fbdevHW symbols when the user isn't using the framebuffer
21116aec45a7Smrg console.

21266aec45a7Smrg Fixed VBE mode list code to work together with reading DDC data using VBE
21276aec45a7Smrg functions.
21286aec45a7Smrg Fixed data types to muffle compiler.
21296aec45a7Smrg Fixed requested size of FIFO for image writes. Fixes temporary lockups.

21356aec45a7Smrg Bug #400 (partial): Driver fixes for the dlloader. When using dlloader, all
21366aec45a7Smrg framebuffer formats except cfb and the overlay modes should work, and
21376aec45a7Smrg r128 and radeon need to be loaded from the ati driver (both issues to
21386aec45a7Smrg be fixed soon). Tested on i740, s3virge, mach64, tdfx, vesa, and vga
21396aec45a7Smrg drivers. elfloader users shouldn't be affected.
