Even old mac68k and macppc don't require it, and somehow TRANS.TBL files are shown on NetBSD when the ISO images created with both -T and and -hide-joliet-trans-tbl are mounted by mount_cd9660(8). Note this also happens with mkisofs(8) from cdrtools-3.02, but I have not investigated if it's expected behavior. |

| H A D | init_main.c | 1.472 Thu Oct 29 00:27:08 GMT 2015 mrg introduce a new way of handling SYSCALL_DEBUG messages -- send them to a kernel history, settable via the SCDEBUG_KERNHIST flag. this requires a fairly significantly different set of messages than the normal debug as histories are restricted: - each message can take one literal format string and upto 4 arguments - the arguments can not be strings if you want vmstat -u to work (this could be fixed, and i might, as it would be nice if we could print syscall names as well as numbers.) introduce SCDEBUG_DEFAULT that is settable in the kernel config. fix a problem in kernhist_dump_histories() where it would crash when a history with no allocated entries was found. extend kernhist_dumpmask() to handle the usbhist and scdebughist. |

| H A D | parse.c | 1.472 Sun Dec 06 20:33:44 GMT 2020 rillig make(1): error out on null bytes in makefiles Makefiles are text files, they must not contain null bytes. The previous code in this area was rotten anyway. It assumed that buf_end could be NULL even if buf_ptr was a valid pointer, which is no longer true, probably since a few years already. Continuing parsing after a null byte does not make sense. If there's a null byte in a text file, that file is corrupted, and parsing it leads to unintended effects easily. Therefore the only sensible action is to stop parsing immediately. The check whether cf->readMore could be null was outdated as well, which previously made the fatal error impossible to reach. Because of the missing unit tests, nobody noticed this though. The "exit status 0" in opt-file.exp is worring but that's due to another bug and will be fixed in a follow-up commit. |
