hardware revision 1.3
1NetBSD/amiga 1.1 runs on any amiga that has a 68020 or better CPU 2with some form of FPU and MMU. The minimal configuration requires 34M of RAM and about 65M of disk space. To install the entire system 4>>> ^^^ 5requires much more disk space, and to run X or compile the system, 6more RAM is recommended. (4M of RAM will actually allow you to 7compile, however it won't be speedy. X really isn't usable on a 84M system) 9 10Here is a table of recommended HD partition sizes for a full install: 11 partition: advise, with X, needed, with X 12 root (/) 15M 15M 10M 10M 13 user (/usr) 65M 100M 45M 80M 14 swap ----- 2M for every M ram ----- 15 local (/local) up to you 16>>> adjust sizes? 17 18As you may note the recommended size of /usr is 20M greater than 19needed. This is to leave room for a kernel source and compile tree 20as you will probably want to compile your own kernel. (GENERIC is 21large and bulky to accommodate all people). 22 23Supported devices include: 24 A4000/A1200 IDE controller. 25 SCSI host adapters: 26 33c93 based boards: A2091, A3000 and GVP series II. 27 53c80 based boards: 12 Gauge, IVS and Wordsync/Bytesync. 28 53c710 based boards: A4091, Magnum, Warp Engine and Zeus. 29 FAS216 based boards: FastLane Z3, Blizzard. 30 Video controllers: 31 ECS, AGA and A2024 built in on various amigas. 32 Retina Z2 and Retina Z3. 33 Picasso II. 34 GVP Spectrum. 35 Piccalo. 36 A2410. 37 Ethernet controllers: 38 A2065 Ethernet 39 Hydra Ethernet 40 ASDG Ethernet 41 A4066 Ethernet 42 Ariadne Ethernet 43 Arcnet controllers: 44 A2060 Arcnet 45 Tape drives: 46 Most SCSI tape drives, including 47 Archive Viper, Cipher SCSI-2 ST150. 48 CD-ROM drives: 49 Most SCSI CD-ROM drives 50 Serial cards: 51 MultiFaceCard II and III 52 A2232 53 Amiga floppy drives. 54 Amiga parallel port. 55 Amiga serial port. 56 Amiga mouse. 57 58If its not on this list, there is no support for it in this release. 59
