      3     The OpenLDAP Project is pleased to announce the availability
      4     of OpenLDAP Software 2.6, a suite of the Lightweight Directory
      5     Access Protocol (v3) servers, clients, utilities, and
      6     development tools.

      8     This release contains the following major enhancements:

     11             - Ability to log directly to a file bypassing syslog
     12         * Retired backends
     13             - back-ndb
     14         * Deprecated backends

     17         * lloadd(8) enhancments
     18             - Additional load balancing strategies
     19             - Additional options to improve coherence with certain
     20               controls and extended operations

     26         * lloadd - a stand-alone LDAP load balancing proxy server

     30         * LDAP tools - A collection of command line LDAP utilities
